Waitrose Cheese Specialist

Welcome to the page about my Specialism!

When I’m not blogging I’m working for Waitrose as a Cheese Specialist, and I have worked for the Partnership many years.

Ever since I started in the Partnership I wanted to become a Cheese Specialist, and It took me 6 months to complete the course. I passed with a distinction (96%), and that means I have a City & Guilds in Retail and a rather cheesy mind!

With my passion for cheese it is certainly a good position to be in surrounded by lovely people & lots of lovely cheeses.

I try and overlap both the blog and the Specialist role so that I can gain as much knowledge as possible and pass that on as much as I can.

There’s not much more I can say but hopefully this gives you a bit more info about the Cheesy1 who runs this blog.

Have fun reading,

Cheesy1

I would just like to add the statement below:

I am a cheese specialist for Waitrose.  All content, recommendations and comments are entirely my own and do not express the views or opinions of Waitrose Limited, John Lewis Plc, or any company within the John Lewis Partnership.”

  1. I visited your branch a couple of times last week (whilst on holiday), the whole shop is lovely. Unfortunately didn’t see you behind the counter whilst I was there, otherwise I would have said ‘Hi’. What a great blog, keep up the great work. 3. Hi Jon, i also work at waitrose. I’ve just started the cheese and deli advisor course. When I’ve finished that
I’m then going to start the specialist course. Love cheese, so this is the perfect job for me. What’s your favourite cheese at the moment? So many to choose from. Mine is Manchego and the 3 year aged cornish quarz cheddar.
